Aronia Berries

Aronia Berry Plants for Sale

Aronia berries offer high levels of vitamins and antioxidants – making growing them a worthwhile addition to any home garden or field. In fact, evidence of aronia berry benefits is accumulating from a variety of different health studies. Interest in healthy eating has also led to significant growth in the popularity of the aronia berry. In addition, aronia berry plants produce attractive dark glossy leaves and many offer superb red autumn hues.

Fresh, dried, juiced, or frozen, aronia berries can be used in many different ways. In addition to fruit in the summer, the aronia berry plant produces white ornate flowers in the spring and fall foliage that changes from green to a vibrant-red color come autumn.

Native to the eastern United States and hardy to zone three, the aronia berry plant is a woody perennial shrub. It tolerates full sun or partial shade; however, in commercial plantings, full sun is recommended for the fruit to ripen uniformly. Aronia plants also adapt well to a wide range of soil drainage classes – from poorly drained to excessively well drained; however, the plant performs best in well-drained soils. Fruit ripens from late August through mid-September.
