Attributes Sherburne’s (Salix sachalinensis x S. miyabeana) rapid growth producing multiple, small diameter, vertical stems that can be harvested every 3 to 4 years make it a popular variety for large scale planting. This cultivar is suitable for mechanical planting, harvesting, and post-harvest processing. Sherburne also displays good disease resistance.
