Grapevines for Sale

At Double A Vineyards, when it comes to grapevines for sale, we’ve developed a reputation for industry leading innovation over the past 25 years. What makes us different? In part, our unique grapevine production system. It’s what allows us to consistently produce the highest quality grapevines.

All of our one-year vines are grown on raised beds covered with black biodegradable plastic. Each row is supplied with water and nutrients by trickle irrigation. Soil moisture is monitored with the use of tensiometers to ensure that the vines are never stressed. The conditions created by the plastic warming the soil in the bed and abundant supply of water and nutrients are ideal for plant growth and root development. These vines are well prepared for planting and vigorous growth in the spring.

At Double A Vineyards, all grapevines for sale have been one-year field grown.

  • 1 Year #1 - These are our standard size vines and they represent the majority of the vines available. These vines have a good root system to support the vine at planting and have exhibited good health in the field.
  • 1 Year Extra - These are still one-year-old vines but they have a heavier, more solid root structure and have exhibited above average growth the first year.

We will also gladly contract grow any grapevine variety provided we can obtain propagation material. Arrangements must be made 12 to 18 months in advance with a deposit at the time of order. Please call for arrangements for contract growing.

  1. Suffolk Red

    Suffolk Red produces medium to large, loose clusters of mild-flavored red berries. Winter damage and poor fruit set are often problems, but flavor is outstanding.
  2. Sunbelt

    Sunbelt is a Concord-type recommended for southern climates where Concord is not well adapted. Vines are productive and fruit ripens more evenly than Concord in warmer climates.
  3. Swenson Red

    Swenson Red produces medium to large conical clusters with large, round, non-slipskin berries with firm flesh. Can be used to make a distinctive white wine as fermentation on the skins is not recommended.
  4. Swenson White

    Swenson White has thick-skinned berries that hang well into the fall. The fruit has a pronounced floral aroma that does not develop strong foxy flavors. May be a good candidate for ice wine.
  5. Tannat - Grafted

    An important variety in Uruguay, Tannat produces deeply colored wines that are astringent and often blended with other varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
  6. Tempranillo - Grafted

    Tempranillo is one of Spain's most important varieties, it can produce wines that are deeply-colored and long-lasting, typically not high in alcohol content.
  7. Valiant

    Valiant is extremely winter hardy and produces small, compact clusters of small berries that ripen reliably. It is used for juice and jelly where other varieties are not hardy enough to be grown.
  8. Van Buren

    Van Buren is a Concord-type table grape with average size purple-black slipskin berries, ripening 3-4 weeks before Concord.
  9. Venus

    Venus is a dark-colored grape with foxy, muscat flavor. Berries are slipskin but often contain a noticeable seed trace.

  11. Worden

    Worden is a highly-productive blue-black variety with medium to large clusters with large, round berries covered with heavy blue bloom. Fruit is slip-skin and excellent for fresh eating.
  12. Zinfandel - Grafted

    Zinfandel is known as an exotic black variety predominantly grown in California and recently found to be identical to the Italian variety Primitivo. Typically made into varietal wines that can age well.
